Mel Sole Earns Master Professional Status.
Myrtle Beach Golf Instructor Mel Sole has been receiving accolades from golf industry pundits for his teaching since 1991. Both GOLF magazine and Golf Digest have named him a "Top Teacher," the Mel Sole Golf School has remained on GOLF magazine's "Top USA Golf Schools" list since it debuted in 1999, and the golf school has received TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence awards since 2012. In addition, the PGA of South Africa, where Mel has retained membership since 1966, has awarded Sole the coveted Master Professional status.
Mel Sole Earns Master Professional Status as the highest category on the PGA pyramid and reserved only for the "legends" of the game. As the second oldest Professional Golfers Association, there are only 18 Master Professionals in the South African PGA. Mel is one of only two who have received this prestigious award while living outside of South Africa. These individuals have made significant contributions to the SAPGA and the game of golf during their careers. A Master Professional has achieved great accomplishments in all aspects of their profession, such as Player, Club Pro, Teacher, etc.
“It's been my life's ambition to attain the status of Master Professional. I have so many people to thank, such as my mentor, Phil Ritson, who taught me so much about teaching, Les Morris, who allowed me to teach at Pawleys Plantation, where I have had such a great teaching facility. All the others I have met along the way, for their many contributions to my career over the years,” said Sole.

The Mel Sole Golf School is currently located at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC. As well as locations in Sunset Beach NC at Sea Trail Resort and in Ellicottville, NY at Holiday Valley Resort.
