Today I will discuss how moving debris away from the golf ball will help you hit cleaner shots around the green.  Looking at my backswing options helped me play an almost unplayable shot.  But not quite!  This was another way to use course management to my advantage out there on the golf course!

This shot was on the very edge of being a complete disaster.  But I got lucky, and the ball stopped just short of the really thick stuff.  But, by assessing the backswing options, clearing away some unnecessary debris, I could get the clubface on the ball and advance it onto the green. It is sometimes easy to say "I'll take a drop" before assessing the situation.  I have saved many shots over the years by thinking my way through a shot that looked like it had disaster written all over it!
