I talk about the simple alignment stick.  Every golfer serious about their golf game should carry at least two alignment sticks in their golf bag.  Not only can you use this for alignment, but you can use this for feedback on a multitude of swing flaws.  My definition of practice is "Focused Repetition with feedback."   Alignment sticks give you a ton of feedback!  I use them for alignment, obviously, but I use them for checking if I am swinging down the line by sticking them in the ground on my body line about 3 feet in front of me.  If I can swing without hitting the alignment sticks, then I know I'm doing well.

I can stick them in the ground right next to my lead heel.  If I am doing my weight shift, correctly I will feel my hip bump into the stick.  Feedback!

This is a training aid that will benefit your game.  Please keep them in your golf bag at all times!
