Congrats Heather - keep up the good work. Give hubbie a break - I think he was just trying to motivate you to go and work on your putting!Enjoy your blogs. I've been a little down in the dumps about my lack of rhythm, touch, tempo, feel, mojo, timing...whatever you want to call it. But things are starting to turn around. I hope.I've only been playing 9-holes lately because of time constraints. So I realize these aren't "real" scores. They're kind of like "half-time" scores. Nonetheless, I've clocked a 40, 39 and a 37. Can you believe it? I'm not sure I can.My 37 yesterday matched my lowest 9-hole score EVER. I hit eight out of nine greens and had one bogey. Par is 36. I've never done that before. When I told Hubbie he said, "So you didn't make any of your birdie putts?" What kind of support is that? Little does he know my golfing gal pals and I are starting a new boys' club called, "Men with Wives Who Outplay Them."For the record, I missed my birdie putts by the slightest of margins. It's amazing how greedy I became once I started hitting greens. There were a couple holes where par almost felt like a disappointment.I only chipped ONCE! That is completely unfathomable to me. My game is all about scrambling—not playing the course in regulation. That is truly a foreign concept to me.There's one important thing I should probably mention: I've played these last three rounds with a set of Callaway Diablo Edge demo irons. I think I've fallen in love again. Hubbie is going to have to sleep on the couch for a while. Currently the irons are enjoying his pillow.Editor's Note: The photo above is the GHIN computer at the golf course telling me, "This score is lower than usual"—as if I didn't already figure that one out.
