Body Rotation. It’s All About the Speed!

Today is July 6th, 2018 and we present Body Rotation.  It’s All About the Speed!  Fitness Friday #95.  A Golf Video Blog with Mel Sole, Director of Instruction and Master Professional at the Mel Sole Golf School headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC.

Here again, our host is Carolina Romero, aka Fit Golfer Girl, golf fitness instructor extraordinaire who, with the help of Dr Scott Hoar, is going to increase our body rotation to help with flexibility and that all important speed! 

Body Rotation.  It’s All About the Speed!

Can Openers: Lay on your back and pull the top leg up and over your lower leg.  Squeeze the knee into the floor Extend your arms out in front of you.  Take your upper arm and rotate it as far back as you can, attempting to touch the forearm on the floor.  Hold for 4 or 5 seconds.  Do 10 reps.

Spiderman: This exercise is for the internal and external rotation of the hips.  This helps with speed in the golf swing.  Lay on the floor on your back with your arms down at your side.  Engage the arms by pressing down as you raise and bend one leg and rotate it as far as you can to one side and then the other. Make sure toes are pointed straight up towards the ceiling at all times.  Repeat on the other side.
