Teeing up on the wrong side of the tee box is a common error. And it is rarely addressed in golf lessons. I will provide you with an easy-to-remember strategy that will help you put the ball in play consistently and give you the advantage.
Look to where the trouble is!
In this video, the trouble is all the way down the right-hand side. This is obviously the side I want to stay away from at all costs!
Tee the ball up on the same side.
Tee the ball up on the same side as the trouble. In this video, I need to tee the ball up on the right-hand side of the tee. That way, if I aim down the middle of the fairway, I will be aiming slightly away from the trouble side. This increases my chances of hitting the fairway, even if I hit a slightly off-line shot to the right.
