Continuing our theme this week of "Power Golf," I show a drill that David Duval used to do when he was #1 in the world.  Powering your putts to hit the back of the hole during practice will give you the confidence to hit your putts firmer during play.  This will definitely result in more putts holed during the round.

Follow along as I talk about the slamming drill to hole more puts by never leaving your first putt short!

Slamming Drill.

Place several balls at about 6 feet from the hole.  Putt these putts to hit the back of the hole really hard.  Remember, this is only a drill, so don't be afraid of going 2 or even 3 feet past the hole if you miss.  Sometimes the ball is going to hit the back of the hole and jump out.  That's fine.  Gain the confidence to hit these putts firmer when you realize that even the putts you thought you hit really hard only went a couple of feet past the hole.

Slamming your Putts on the Golf Course.

Once on the golf course, do your practice swings looking between 12 and 18 inches past the hole.  Go ahead and hit the putt with confidence.  You will hole more than your fair share of putts from now on!
